With the theme of invincibility, I kept coming back to the classic shield-and-spear paradox, the idea of an unstoppable force meeting an immovable object.

Shield and Spear is built around that concept. You control an omnipotent entity tasked with being the eternal protector of a sacred temple, defending it against relentless waves of Cubarts that surge toward you.

Your power is absolute but limited in a very specific way. At all times, you exist in one of two invincible states: either an unstoppable force or an immovable object. You can’t be harmed, but you also can’t be everything at once.

As the waves grow larger and more chaotic, and the sheer volume of enemies begins to overwhelm you, it becomes clear: invincibility doesn’t mean much if you still have vulnerabilities.

Depending on feedback I may continue working on this after the game jam ends, I was planning on putting in some new enemy types, some interactive map elements, and of course background music is heavily needed. Let me know what you think and if you'd be interested in seeing a V2
